Homes for Haringey and Haringey Council are in the process of making plans to transform the car park between Croydon and Debden Houses into a community growing space for the residents of Broadwater Farm.
The Broadwater Farm Growing Project aims to deliver workshops for the community and provide space for residents to grow their own food on the estate. The project will include growing plots as well as space for outdoor community events.
Workshops will begin early in the new year at the community centre where residents can learn about sowing, planting from cuttings, managing a plot and growing their own food.
To register your interest please contact Jasmin Emmanuel on jasmin.emmanuel@homesforharingey.org or call 020 8489 2008.
The newly formed Community Design Group for the Broadwater Farm Estate came together in October for the first time. The group participated in an online Design Training workshop, delivered by The Glass-House Community-Led Design and independent external designers. The workshop focussed on exploring principles for the design of neighbourhoods and homes, helping to prepare participants to work collaboratively with the design team on the project.
An initial introductory meeting was also held between the Community Design Group and the Design Team to introduce the project. You can now view the minutes for this first meeting by clicking here .
If you would like to offer comments or feedback, or would like to be included on our mailing list to receive news and updates about the Community Design Group, please email info@bwfletstalk.co.uk.
